What you’ll accomplish with us
As an Underwriter, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
Assess risk for individual life, critical illness, and disability insurance applications to ensure fair, appropriate, and competitive underwriting decisions.
Analyze medical and non‑medical information to identify any potential risks or concerns.
Apply underwriting guidelines and procedures to make sound and informed underwriting decisions.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the completion of underwriting tasks and processes.
Communicate with stakeholders to obtain additional information or clarify matters related to underwriting decisions.

Is recognized for their sound judgment, critical thinking, and ability to propose appropriate solutions, while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Holds a college or university degree in health sciences or a related field.
Holds or is working toward the FLMI or LOMA designation.
Has a minimum of 2 years of underwriting experience in individual life insurance, critical illness, and disability insurance.
Has an advanced level of proficiency in both English and French, as the role requires daily analysis of information, consultation and review of reports and documentation, email writing, and communication with unilingual French- and English-speaking clients and external partners.

The typical hiring range for this position is between 55 376$ and 79 585$ CAD per year; the base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role.
