As a Portfolio Manager, you will play a key role by influencing stakeholders, building strong and sustainable partnerships, and leveraging your adaptability, rigor, and natural leadership to support the delivery of strategic priorities.

This position is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and fully realize your potential within a caring and trustworthy company. Here, people and their development are at the heart of our priorities, fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.

What you’ll accomplish with us

As a Portfolio Manager, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Support and advise managers and their teams in the preparation of business cases, initiative planning, and investment portfolio packages, including the required monitoring and tracking mechanisms.

  • Actively participate in strategic prioritization exercises and contribute to the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the portfolio roadmap, ensuring alignment with agreed parameters (budget, timeline, scope, benefits, expected value) and overall strategic objectives.

  • Orchestrate portfolio management activities in line with the lifecycle of strategic initiatives and monitor project execution to ensure alignment with portfolio planning and the achievement of organizational strategic goals.

  • Provide comprehensive and reliable visibility into portfolio data to enable consolidated reporting, fact-based recommendations, and informed strategic decision-making that enhances overall portfolio performance.

  • Promote a culture of executive accountability for benefits realization and tracking, while providing the necessary support for budgeting, audit, and benefits management processes.

  • Ensure portfolio compliance with GPMO standards, governance frameworks, and organizational requirements, while safeguarding data quality, integrity, and availability, and contributing to transversal portfolio management performance indicators.

  • Collaborate closely with portfolio stakeholders, the Business Portfolio Owner (BPO), and GPMO contributors to resolve prioritization conflicts, anticipate deviations, develop contingency plans, and continuously improve portfolio management process maturity.

  • Coordinate the interventions of other GPMO contributors within the sector, represent the GPMO in governance forums and cross-functional working groups, share knowledge, and promote behaviors aligned with a learning organization.

What could accelerate your success in this role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is known for their expertise in project and portfolio management, including governance practices, as well as a solid understanding of the financial services and insurance industry.

  • Stands out for their excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and prioritization skills, along with the ability to interact with, influence, and advise key stakeholders, including senior management, in their decision-making processes.

  • Demonstrates strong ability to operate in complex environments characterized by ambiguity and uncertainty, while showing a high tolerance for change and strong adaptability.

  • Is recognized for their collaborative skills within multidisciplinary teams, a trusted advisory posture with senior leadership (an asset), and knowledge of scaled agile frameworks and product management (an asset).

  • Has 3 to 5 years of experience in portfolio management.

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.

  • Demonstrates advanced proficiency in both French and English, written and spoken, due to daily responsibilities carried out in both languages. These responsibilities include leading virtual meetings and presentations, as well as drafting emails with unilingual French- and English-speaking partners and suppliers.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • A work environment where learning and development merge with a collective pursuit of excellence.

  • A healthy, safe, fair, and inclusive environment where potential can be freely expressed and developed.

  • The opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, supported by flexibility and access to inspiring and innovative workspaces.

  • Competitive benefits: Flexible group insurance, competitive pension plan, stock purchase plan, vacation and wellness/personal development days, telemedicine, employee and family assistance program, ergonomic furniture program, performance bonus, discounts on iA products, and much more!
