What you’ll accomplish with us

As a Director, Data and Analytics – Operations, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Influence insurance operations management teams (claims, pricing, business practices and solutions development) to ensure data-driven decision-making.

  • Lead a team of business intelligence and actuarial experts in the design, delivery, and communication of complex analyses and performance measurement tools, while ensuring their development, engagement, and performance.

  • Conduct performance assessments of insurance operations processes and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.

  • In collaboration with operational management teams, analyze complex situations requiring a deep understanding of the business context, and identify process gaps, issues, and improvement opportunities.

  • Recommend performance targets and standards based on fact-based analyses aligned with business strategies.

  • Develop actionable recommendations arising from various analyses.

  • Identify and develop succession for analytical roles to meet the organization’s future needs.

  • Communicate senior management’s vision to mobilize the team toward shared objectives and ambitions.

  • Contribute to the development of the sector’s continuous improvement plan and challenge existing processes to drive optimization.

  • Ensure that produced indicators are relevant and of appropriate quality.

What could accelerate your success in this role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is known for their technical expertise in statistical programming (SAS or equivalent), solid analytical and synthesis skills, as well as rigor, attention to detail, and a strong sense of accountability.

  • Stands out for their ability to exercise sound judgment, demonstrate creativity and initiative, and show a strong commitment to continuous process improvement, supported by excellent organization and an effective work structure.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and simply, as well as strong adaptability in fast-paced and evolving environments.

  • Is recognized for their leadership and people management capabilities, including managerial courage, talent mobilization, autonomy, and the ability to operate in complex environments; Fellowship of the Casualty Actuarial Society is considered an asset.

  • Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in data analytics, preferably within the property and casualty insurance sector.

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or an equivalent field.
