Build the future with us

Are you driven by risk management and regulatory compliance and eager to contribute to the purpose of a company that aims to help its clients feel confident and secure about their future? As a Compliance Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the organization to ensure effective management of risks related to regulatory requirements, particularly in cases of non-compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and industry standards applicable to a property and casualty insurance company and its representatives.

This position is a great opportunity to showcase your skills and fully realize your potential within a caring and trustworthy company. Here, people and their development are at the heart of our priorities, fostering an environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.

In this role, you will work cross-functionally with members of your team as well as sector compliance leaders to advise the organization. You will support various stakeholders within the company and its subsidiary in the deployment of regulatory risk management programs. You will also be responsible for identifying and assessing regulatory risks, including situations of non-compliance and tolerance breaches, and ensuring their escalation to the Sector Compliance Lead.

What you’ll accomplish with us

As a Regulatory Compliance Advisor, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Advise and support stakeholders within the company and its subsidiary in the sound management of regulatory risks and in the deployment of regulatory risk management programs.

  • Ensure proactive legislative monitoring, inform stakeholders of regulatory changes, and support them in assessing impacts and implementing required adjustments.

  • Collaborate in the implementation of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines issued by regulatory authorities.

  • Participate in the identification, assessment, and management of regulatory risks and controls in partnership with process and risk owners.

  • Contribute to the development, follow-up, and coordination of action plans related to non-compliance issues, tolerance breaches, and regulatory incidents.

  • Ensure the monitoring and updating of regulatory risk registers and contribute to reporting activities related to risk management.

  • Participate in awareness activities, regulatory monitoring mandates, and risk analyses related to company projects.

  • Contribute to the evolution of the organization’s regulatory risk profile to support decision-making and perform any other related tasks as requested by the manager.

What could accelerate your success in this role

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is known for their rigor, strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively manage priorities in a rapidly evolving environment.

  • Stands out for their teamwork and strong collaborative mindset with various internal partners and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrates strong analytical and synthesis skills, enabling the understanding and evaluation of complex regulatory issues.

  • Is recognized for excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening and critical judgment.

  • Demonstrates objectivity and impartiality while being able to reconcile different viewpoints and take positions in a timely manner.

  • Has 5 to 8 years of experience in property and casualty insurance or the financial services industry, including experience in risk management.

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in law, with a Bar membership considered an asset.

  • Shows strong autonomy, proactivity, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes.

  • Has knowledge of property and casualty insurance, as well as familiarity with business sectors such as iAAH, Prysm, and iA, and with Lean and Agile work environments (asset).
