Description

Responsibilities:

  • Help organize and facilitate strategic prioritization activities aimed at building and updating a request backlog and roadmap for the business sector being served within the agreed-upon parameters (e.g. budget schedule, scope, expected value), on a regular basis. 
  • Actively help prepare budgets and implement required follow-up mechanisms. 
  • Prepare communications and keep required tools updated to support the prioritization process that provides transparency and clarity regarding the strategic priorities of the sector served. 
  • Actively contribute to the request management process for the sector(s) served, from request initiation to profit audit. This process includes any form of request, often varied in nature, such as: strategic initiatives, continuous improvement requests, support requests, and other ad hoc requests not handled by established processes.  
  • Maintain alignment between the served sector’s strategic planning and the project execution to ensure the work done by the production teams has a positive impact on the organization’s strategic objectives. 
  • Collaborate regularly with IT portfolio stakeholders, both IT and business, to resolve prioritization conflicts, detect possible discrepancies with the proposed roadmap and help develop contingency plans. 
  • Represent the sector served in the various planning priority-setting forums and participate in round tables that mobilize multiple sectors. 
  • Ensure the portfolio’s compliance with the standards established by the IT portfolio management office. 
  • Collaborate regularly with other portfolio analysts from his/her team and the IT Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to maintain a global roadmap and ensure the request backlog is up-to-date 
  • Act as a liaison between the various Information Technology delivery teams to identify and resolve potential conflicts, coordinate dependencies and create contingency plans. 

Desired profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science, administration or other relevant training of a similar level and three to five (3-5) years (S: five to seven (5-7) years) of experience in a similar role. 
  • Extensive knowledge of project management. 
  • Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, conflict management and decision-making skills. 
  • Ability to interact with and influence senior management and the various key business unit stakeholders in their decision-making processes, regardless of their hierarchical levels. 
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and collaboratively. 
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty. 
  • Proven autonomy and ability to find pragmatic solutions to complex problems. 
  • A working knowledge of French, verbal and written (strong asset). 
  • Large-scale mastery of Agility, specifically the SAFe® work environment (asset) 
  • Knowledge of the financial services and insurance industry (asset).
