Job Summary

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic events management professional looking for the next challenge in your career? We are looking for a Senior Event Manager to join our high-performing marketing team for a rewarding career at one of Canada’s leading independent financial services companies.

In this role you will lead the planning, management and successful execution of multiple annual events across the iA Wealth group of companies.


  • Proactively plan and manage the events calendar across the iA Wealth group of companies by determining anticipated event requirements for current and future calendar years

  • Oversee the planning and execution of annual Chairmen and Presidents’ Club events – securing international venues and ‘5-star’ experiences to recognize top advisors

  • Plan and manage annual dealer events including cross-Canada advisor roadshows and ‘flagship’ advisor summit events at premium venues

  • Establish professional standards and protocol for event management and streamlined execution

  • Deliver top-quality event experiences in both English and French

  • Manage an annual event budget of approximately $3M, consistently delivering high-quality events within budget

  • Manage the Events team and foster opportunities for increased experience and responsibility

  • Negotiate quotes and agreements with vendors, ensuring compliance with contract standards and procedures established by iA’s procurement team

  • Reconcile invoices against budget, maintaining accurate and up-to-date payment and record keeping

  • Deliver on event objectives, oversee onsite event logistics and develop event feedback surveys, compile and deliver post-event reports

Knowledge, experience, skills and expertise

  • Bilingual: demonstrated proficiency in French and English is required for success in the position

  • At least seven to ten years of direct event management experience and three or more years of employee management is required

  • Excellent team leadership skills and the ability to bring together a variety of diverse talent and ideas to create and execute collaborative, high-impact events

  • Proactive and highly organized, with excellent time management, organization and planning skills

  • Proficiency in various event planning/management software, as well as virtual event platforms and technology

  • Exceptional eye for detail
