Reporting to the Manager, as a Compliance Counsel, you will actively take part in various projects aimed at ensuring the compliance of the distribution network with the various Canadian legal and regulatory framework, the improvement of our processes, and the digital shift of our distribution tools. Surrounded by a multidisciplinary team, you will be required to inform, influence, and mobilize the different actors within the business line in order to ensure that regulatory requirements are met while providing simple, effective and efficient solutions.

Moreover, you will take part in the implementation and deployment of the insurer’s distribution network’s training and communication strategy.

As part of your duties, you will:

  • Actively take part in the various projects initiated by iA’s Individual Insurance and Savings sector as they relate to the improvement of the insurance processes and distribution tools

  • As a Compliance Advisor, actively take part in projects aimed at developing and improving the insurer’s distribution networks, by providing advice and recommendations related to the requirements applicable to the distribution of the insurer’s financial services and products as well as its operations

  • Identify and find solutions to compliance matters related to the distribution of individual financial products and services (all Canadian jurisdictions)

  • Identify and find solutions to compliance matters related to the individual insurance and savings sector (all Canadian jurisdictions)

  • Actively help develop the training and communication strategy for regulatory requirements and deliver this training to the distribution networks

  • Work daily with the analysts and advisors of the Compliance Department


  • Bachelor’s degree in law and a member of the Quebec Bar Association or Quebec Chamber of notaries

  • At least five yeas of experience working in the financial services sector

  • Good command of French and English (oral and written)

  • Writing skills; Ability to summarize and discipline

  • Good interpersonal skills
