Learning Consultant, Employee and Leadership Development

Working closely with the Manager, Employee and Leadership Development, the Learning Consultant, Employee and Leadership Development is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering engaging and effective learning solutions for PPI employees, primarily those in Sales and Operations. 

In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders to identify their learning needs, objectives, and outcomes, and create customized learning content and programs that align with the PPI’s business goals and strategies. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative learning team that values innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct learning needs analysis and consult with stakeholders to determine the best learning solutions.

  • Design and develop engaging and effective learning content and programs using various modalities, such as instructor-led, e-learning, blended, micro-learning, video, and social learning.

  • Develop, update, and maintain training documentation, including existing and new processes and system functions.

  • Facilitate and deliver learning sessions, using various platforms and tools, such as MS Teams.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the learning solutions and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

  • Research and stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in learning methodologies and technologies, and apply them to the learning solutions.

  • Collaborate and communicate with the learning team and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistency of the learning solutions.

  • Manage and maintain the learning content and programs in the learning management system and other platforms.

  • Support and promote a culture of learning and development.

  • Create and maintain project plans for learning programs from design to implementation and evaluation

  • Engage in actions that that encourage, reflect and align with PPI’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) commitments to our Advisors, their clients and our employees. 

  • Travel to office locations as required.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience of relevant experience in training, content development and facilitation in the life insurance industry, specifically within Sales and/or Operations

  • Tech savvy with expertise in one, or a combination of training design, learning evaluation, data analysis, learning methodologies and learning technologies such as LMS, authoring tools, mobile and social learning.

  • Proven facilitation, presentation, and public speaking skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive adoption and new ways of working

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a consultative, customer-focused mindset.

  • Superior business analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to make recommendations based on analysis.

  • Initiative to be innovative and creative with developing new ideas and concepts.

  • Exemplary organization and time management skills with ability to organize self and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with proven ability to foster teamwork and develop and maintain relationships.

  • Advanced degree of skill with Microsoft Office, MS Teams, Snagit and Sharepoint.

  • Strong knowledge of e-Learning tools (Workday Learning, Talent LMS, Articulate 360, Camtasia, Vyond).

  • Results driven with demonstrated ability to flourish in environments of significant change.

  • Excellent English language skills required, both oral and written, due to frequent interactions with English-speaking colleagues, internal partners and clients across Canada. French language skills an asset.
