By closely collaborating with business stakeholders and analysts, you will ensure that our data meets business requirements and aligns with our organization’s strategic goals.

What Will I Be Doing:

  • Create and refine data models to accurately represent the organization’s data assets and inter-relationships, based on a clear understanding of business requirements

  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models on Power Designer

  • Conduct data discovery and trace data lineage

  • Write complex SQL queries for intricate data analysis, profiling, and retrieval

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including database designs, data flow charts, system architecture diagrams, data lineage, metadata, and other relevant details

  • Manage and update a data dictionary (on Collibra), source inventories, and reference/master data sets

  • Design and implementation of schemas, tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, and other database objects.

  • Enforce data quality and governance to ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance

  • Integrate diverse data sources ensuring that data can be combined and accessed effectively

  • Collaborate with data governance teams to uphold data quality, security and compliance standards within the Data Lakehouse environment.

  • Provide technical guidance, and support to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation

What Tools will I Be Working with:

  • MS cloud technologies (ADF, Azure)

  • Snowflake Data Warehousing

  • Power Designer

  • Collibra

  • MDM tools such as IBM infosphere and/or Ataccama

  • Power BI

What we are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data modeling, including experience with relational, star and snowflake schemas

  • Strong expertise in database design, data architecture, ETL/ELT and data warehousing (Snowflake)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and other databases

  • Experience with Azure Cloud, Snowflake

  • Familiarity with data integration, ETL, visualization tools

  • Proficient with Data Modelling Tools

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and security best practices, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong customer focus, as well as working in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Property and Casualty insurance background is considered an asset

Compensation

The typical hiring range for this position is from $100,000 to $110,000 annually; the base pay offered may vary depending on skills, job-related knowledge, experience, and internal equity. All permanent employees of iA are also entitled to an annual bonus.
