Claims Assistant (6 month contract)

As a Claims Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the daily activities of our Claims team by ensuring the smooth flow of administrative operations and client communications. In this dynamic entry-level role, you will collaborate closely with Claims Analysts and other teams to process documentation, manage inquiries, and contribute to delivering a seamless experience to our clients. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within a supportive environment.

What you’ll accomplish with us 

As a Claims Assistant, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:

  • Screen and distribute incoming emails to appropriate team members for follow‑up
  • Sort, scan, and distribute incoming mail to Claims team members
  • Print and prepare client correspondence generated through our document system
  • Assemble and mail client packages with required forms or summaries
  • Search internal systems for client information related to Returned Mail
  • Contact clients to obtain updated addresses or payment information as needed
  • Respond to client inquiries via email
  • Update and verify cheque payment status
  • Set up new claims for specific products

  • Is known for their strong routine‑oriented and organizational abilities.
  • Stands out for their excellent customer service capabilities.
  • Demonstrates strong collaborative working with teammates and cross‑functional partners.
  • Is recognized for their basic PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook; web‑based applications).
  • Has 2-3 years of experience in insurance‑related or high‑volume customer service environment.

The typical hiring range for this position is between 50,000 CAD and 55,000 CAD per year; the base salary offered may vary depending on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role.
