Loan Facilities Specialist

The Loan Facilities Specialist is responsible for the successful management of loan facility applications and for providing ongoing service through the in-force process.  The Loan Facilities Specialist works as an integral member of the Loan Facilities team by communicating with Associates, insurance carriers, lenders, and Marketing Offices to ensure loan facility requirements are met, and identifying and addressing any issues related to new or existing loan facilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and promote positive working relationships with insurance carriers, Associates, lenders and Marketing Offices.

  • Manage the application process of both new loan facilities and renewal of existing loan facilities, working with Associates, insurance carriers, lenders, and PPI staff as required.

  • Provide service support on in-force loan facility cases, engaging PPI New Business and/or Policy Service staff as necessary.

  • Maintain a complete understanding of all loan facility related forms and their purpose in order to provide Associates, clients and Marketing Offices with assistance on all loan facilities.

  • Assist Associates and Marketing Office staff with questions regarding loan facility strategies, the application process and ongoing in-force communication.

  • Follow-up on all required information/documentation and acknowledge to Associate/ insurance carriers/lenders items received as well as communicating decisions or questions pertaining to the application.

  • Ensure the requirements/status of loan facilities are kept up to date in WealthServ.

  • Provide back up and support to the Loan Facilities team as appropriate and as requested.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the financial services industry with an advanced knowledge of insurance products

  • Understanding of insurance products’ function as collateral for loan facilities, an asset

  • Knowledge of financial statements analysis, tax returns and investment brokers’ statements, an asset

  • Industry designation(s) desirable (CFP, CLU, FLMI, ACS)

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships

  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Excellent organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated skill as a problem solver

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a professional, discretionary manner

  • Demonstrated maturity and ability to respond appropriately in stressful situations

  • Superior degree of skill with Microsoft software applications

  • Excellent English language skills, both oral and written due to frequent interactions with English-speaking colleagues, internal partners or clients across Canada. Speaking French is an asset
