What you will accomplish with us

As a Senior Advisor, Insurance Risk Oversight, you will be at the heart of our mission. Here are the key responsibilities:

  • Lead the enhancement and execution of the Insurance Risk Oversight Framework, aligned with regulatory expectations.
  • Provide oversight of insurance risk exposures, including mortality, morbidity, longevity, lapse, catastrophe, and expense risks.
  • Assess key actuarial assumptions and methodologies used in pricing, reserving, and capital models.
  • Provide independent review and feedback on new product decisions and pricing decisions.
  • Contribute to the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Stress Testing programs from an insurance risk perspective.
  • Develop and maintain insurance risk dashboards, KRIs, and reporting for Senior Management and relevant committees.
  • Monitor emerging insurance risks, insurance sector trends, and regulatory developments, and provide proactive insights and recommendations.
  • Evaluate reinsurance arrangements and strategies from a risk perspective and support enhancements to the reinsurance decision framework.
  • Review reinsurance contractual terms and clauses to ensure alignment with group-wide insurance practices and harmonization standards.
  • Support sectors in applying sound risk management practices, ensuring that product development decisions comply with the risk management framework.
  • Promote risk culture through education, training, and guidance across the organization.

What could accelerate your success in this role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or any other relevant training.
  • Has a minimum of 8 years of experience in insurance or actuarial roles, ideally with a focus on risk management or oversight.
  • Is recognized for their strong understanding of life and health insurance products, pricing, valuation, and capital frameworks.
  • Stands out for their analytical mindset, critical thinking, and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to influence senior management.
  • Writes clearly and concisely, producing well-structured reports and documentation.
  • Builds constructive relationships and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Considers French speaking and writing skills an asset.

The typical hiring range for this position starts at 115000$ per year; the proposed base salary may vary based on knowledge, skills, years of experience, and internal equity related to the role.
