Description

We have a great opportunity for you within the Group Savings and Retirement team: iA Financial Group is looking for an Investment Specialist to meet the needs of our Group Savings and Retirement clients. Are you a Finance graduate with a passion for investments and group savings and retirement? You will be responsible for representing iA Financial Group to clients and actuarial consulting firms, and in developing the sector's investment offering.

More specifically:

  • Work with retirement plan sponsors and their consultants/advisors to identify needs and priorities, formulate investment objectives, and develop effective investment strategies to achieve those objectives;
  • Conduct market reviews and analysis of client account performance with retirement committees and provide advice and suggestions for improving the plans' investment fund offerings;
  • Handle ad hoc requests from clients and consultants;
  • Work with the plans consulting firms to structure de-risking strategies, and trigger-based strategies on measures such as plan solvency, interest rates and foreign exchange rates;
  • Actively participate in the business development component through active participation in finalist presentations, with the goal of securing new mandates;
  • Manage client transactions;
  • Act as an investment expert for Account Executives, Relationship Managers and Financial Education Specialists to enhance the level of investment expertise available to their key market sources and clients;
  • Support our submissions team on investment related matters;
  • Actively participate in the management of the GSR fund platform in collaboration with the corporate investment team;
  • Actively participate in the monitoring and in the preparation of the mid-year evaluation of the funds offered on the platform;
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the market and investment process, strategy and portfolio manager attribution;
  • Participate in special projects within the department.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, administration or actuarial sciences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position or in a related field
  • Bilingualism, a strong asset
  • Mastery of the Office Suite (excel)
  • Very good knowledge of investment vehicles and retirement savings products
  • Progress towards the CFA designation, an asset
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC), an asset
  • Permit from the AMF: Group pension plans (may be done after hiring)
  • This position requires travel
