Student position/ Toronto/ Summer
We are seeking a Student Estate Specialist to join our team for Summer 2025. This student must have the ability to learn new tasks quickly and work well individually and with the team. Good communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with advisors/clients through various communication methods in a professional and supportive manner;
- Verification of documents;
- Identify potential issues or missed items on the documents and help find a solution to process the estate claim as efficiently as possible;
- Process of high dollar estate files: High dollar Redemptions or transfers of various products held in the account (mutual funds, GICs, segregated funds, exchange traded funds) understand CRA administration guidelines & Process payment of funds if applicable to the beneficiaries/assignees;
- Provide updates to our clients/advisor about document status via email;
- Escalate issues on a priority basis to ensure we meet SLAs;
- Stay updated on changes in our procedures and participate within our daily DMS meetings;
- Good understanding for Estate guidelines for each provincial legislation;
- Self regulate and manage daily workloads.
Qualifications:
- Student in an administration, business, finance, or related program;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Previous experience working for a mutual fund dealership, fund company or branch office is an asset;
- Completion of IFIC Operations course is an asset;
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and professionalism;
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where multi-tasking, attention to detail, organization and prioritization skills are a definite requirement;
- A team player with demonstrated collaboration skills;
- Overtime during peak volumes will be a requirement;
- Bilingual is an asset.
