Risk Management Advisor Sector: Insurance, Individual Savings and Retirement / Permanent / French & English / Hybrid

The Insurance, Individual Savings, and Retirement sector is seeking a risk management professional to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of risk management principles and be able to develop and implement effective strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate corporate risk management frameworks to employees and managers in the business sector to ensure they are understood and applied.
- Assist sector teams in identifying and assessing applicable risks.
- Advise managers to determine appropriate mitigation measures, and participate in the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the effectiveness of these controls.
- Actively participate in business projects and initiatives in the individual sector to ensure sound risk management.
- Raise awareness among employees and managers about risk prevention.
- Participate in monitoring the sector's action plans, propose necessary support to managers, and raise awareness of best practices in implementing action plans.
- Assist teams in managing risk events. Participate in reporting, assess impacts, identify root causes of events, and help owners develop action plans.
- Monitor the sector's risk profile, ensure surveillance of emerging risks, and analyze trends.
- Contribute to the establishment and monitoring of risk indicators.
- Prepare reports and presentations on risks and their management strategies.
- Participate in maintaining the sector's business continuity plans.
- Assist teams and managers with any risk management-related questions.
- Act as a resource person in implementing the risk management program with the members of our sector's management committee.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of work methods to enhance team efficiency.
Desired Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or another relevant field;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role;
- Excellent understanding of risk management (concepts, methodology, tools);
- Experience in the insurance and financial products sector (a significant asset);
- Intermediate level of English proficiency as the person will be required to conduct workshops and make calls in English with English-speaking partners on a monthly basis.
- Ability to communicate effectively and simplify complex topics;
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
- High level of autonomy, sense of priorities, and ability to manage time effectively while working on multiple projects in a constantly evolving environment;
- Ability to establish strong professional relationships, collaborate with various stakeholders, and influence managers and executives in decision-making.
