Join iA Private Wealth Management as an Assistant Corporate Controller and become an integral part of our dynamic Accounting and Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to support the Corporate Controller in managing the financial operations of a leading securities broker. You will play a key role in month-end processes, treasury reconciliations, and supervising a team of skilled accounting technicians.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounting and finance, ideally with experience in the securities industry. Main Responsibilities:
• Support the Corporate Controller in accounting for the various business lines of the securities broker;
• Involvement in month-end tasks: adjusting entries, reconciliations and account analysis, verification of the reconciled balance sheet, etc.;
• Participation in the treasury team for daily reconciliations;
• Support and involvement in the payables team;
• Supervision of a team of accounting technicians;
• Review of the firm's monthly balance sheet;
• Preparation of monthly files for accounting purposes;
• Reconciliation and accounting of various inventory investments;
• Monitoring discrepancies and outstanding amounts;
• Support for month-end accounting and board reports;
• Assist with external auditors' verification during interim and year-end;
• Support in special projects;
• Process improvements and documentation;
• Assist the corporate controller in preparing financial information;
• Perform any other related tasks deemed relevant
Desired Skills:
• Bachelor's degree (Accounting option), CPA accounting designation or in the process of obtaining it;
• Experience with a securities broker is an asset;
• 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an accounting firm or in a company in the financial sector;
• Experience in supervising accounting staff and technicians;
• Excellent knowledge of Excel software;
