ABOUT THE ROLE
The National Accounts Associate at iA Clarington Investments will support the relationship management and business development efforts with national accounts and internal channels. Furthermore, the National Accounts Associate plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s distribution strategy by assisting the National Accounts team in managing and growing relationships with key financial intermediaries.
This position involves coordinating sales and marketing efforts, completing due diligence questionnaires, conducting data analysis, coordinating compliance efforts, and ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and external partners.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Relationship Management Support
Assist National Accounts team in maintaining relationships with broker-dealers, banks, and other financial institutions.
Serve as a primary point of contact for operational and administrative requests from partners.
Help manage the onboarding process for new distribution agreements and platform approvals.
Collaborate with internal teams to complete due diligence questionnaires and respond to requests for information.
2. Sales & Marketing Coordination
Collaborate with internal sales teams to ensure alignment on business development strategies.
Prepare and distribute sales presentations, marketing materials, and competitive analysis reports for client meetings.
Monitor and track key account performance, fund flows, and market trends.
3. Data Analysis & Reporting
Generate reports on sales activity, asset flows, and market penetration for key accounts.
Analyze fund performance relative to competitors and provide insights to support decision-making.
Maintain CRM databases and ensure accurate record-keeping of client interactions.
4. Operational & Compliance Support
Work closely with internal teams (legal, compliance, operations) to ensure all distribution agreements and marketing materials comply with regulatory requirements.
Assist in coordinating due diligence meetings and product reviews with key accounts.
Support the implementation of fee arrangements, revenue-sharing agreements, and platform listings.
Education & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
Canadian Securities Course
Experience:
5+years in the asset management or financial services industry.
Specific skills & abilities or areas of knowledge:
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
Proficient in using Morningstar and YCharts for evaluating investment opportunities, analyzing market trends, and conducting portfolio assessments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Career progression:
This role provides an opportunity to develop deep expertise in financial distribution and national accounts management. High-performing associates may advance into roles such as National Accounts Manager or other positions within sales and distribution.
