Join our dynamic underwriting operations team, where underwriters assess risks associated with applications for individual life, disability, or critical illness insurance. We are looking for a dedicated team member to support our underwriters in their day-to-day tasks. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Email Management: Manage and reply to the underwriting team's email mailbox efficiently. 

  • Timely Correspondence: Distribute correspondence to team members and ensure timely responses. 

  • Priority Monitoring: Distribute and monitor priority and urgent cases, ensuring they are addressed before deadlines. 

  • Letter Composition: Ensure letters to clients, advisors, and medical professionals are written in accordance with established protocols and formatted correctly. 

  • Progress Updates: Update files on the progress of action plans put in place by management. 

  • Task Assignment: Assign associated underwriting tasks to appropriate team members, finalize post-issue underwriting cases, and prepare decision letters to advisors and clients. 

  • MIB Inquiries: Handle MIB inquiries with precision. 

  • Schedule Management: Manage the daily schedule of medical consultants to ensure adequate capacity for analyzing files requiring clinical expertise. 

  • Evaluate and Decide:   As you progress in your role, you may be able to assist in making decisions on life, critical illness, and disability insurance applications with low to medium complexity and small coverage amounts. 

Requirements: 

  • Analytical Skills: Sound analysis and decision-making abilities. 

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills in administrative tasks. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in individual insurance administrative support role. 

  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of the Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), underwriting systems, and Workflow.
