Regional Director, Strategic Relationships
In this role, you will be responsible for growing the business with the objective of increasing production and promoting consultative sales to support the achievement of the Strategic Relationships regional sales plan.
You will be responsible for relationship management with key Advisors, influencers and staff at select firms. As well as the sales case and practice management for Advisors aligned to them. You will connect internally to the resources, tools and education to enhance the Advisors’ professional success and ensure that it is simple and easy to do business with PPI. You will work in collaboration with the Business Solutions team and other counterparts in the High Net Worth (HNW), Broad Market and Wealth (seg funds only) to provide a holistic approach to relationship management.
Responsibilities:
Community/Industry engagement:
Actively participate in community events to promote the PPI brand and value proposition
Represent PPI at industry events such as ADVOCIS, STEP, etc.
Assume the ongoing support and business development strategy with PPI's existing strategic relationships in the respective region.
Use a consultative approach to holistic planning for Strategic Relationship (SR) Advisors to integrate insurance, estate and tax planning into their client discussions.
Strategic Relationship advocacy activities – dispute resolution, exceptions, moving business through the funnel with support of the Business Solutions team.
Implement strategic relationship sales/action plan in order to achieve growth objectives.
Execution of a new client-centric business model that leverages PPI's value proposition and delivers a sustainable and rewarding partnership model to strategic relationship firms.
With a customer experience lens, identify and put the processes in place that make it easy for each firm's investment Advisors to add insurance to their practice.
Market and leverage the PPI Advisory HNW offering, as a key differentiator for PPI.
Utilize senior Advisors affiliated with PPI in an insurance consultancy model for investment Advisors looking to partner with an Advisor for their insurance integration.
Reflect and support the two unique service models at PPI, for the broader market and for the high net-worth market, integrating where appropriate while maintaining and enhancing the concierge service at PPI Advisory.
Foster close working relationships with the "influencers" at each strategic relationship firm (a partnership approach) and their Advisors.
Expand PPI's reach in this market by adding new firms across Canada – CIRO (IIROC, MFDA) ICPM, Credit Unions. (Caisse Polulaires in Quebec).
Preparation and delivery of presentations to numerous stakeholders (Advisors, CEO, VP, RVPs).
Market Pulse: research and development, competitive intelligence of the SR landscape and investment Advisor realities.
Engage in actions that encourage, reflect and align with PPI’s ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) commitments to our Advisors, their clients and our employees.
Education, Experience and Skills:
8+ years Independent financial services industry experience – preferably in a strategic account channel (ideally in a IIROC/MFDA platform)
Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as business administration
Industry designation(s) CFP, CLU, CHS, PFP, FEA, Pl.Fin
Strong preference for CFP Designation
Willing to get CFP/CLU within 18 months
8+ years Independent financial services industry experience – preferably in a strategic account channel (ideally IIROC/MFDA platform)
Demonstrated sales leadership experience
Advanced knowledge of financial services industry and regulatory environment within: IIROC, MFDA and PWM firms
Results-driven with a disciplined approach to deliver sales, recruitment and Advisor growth in Strategic Relationships
Proven networking skills with the ability to be an industry and brand ambassador to elevate PPI’s brand in the community
Ability to evaluate how well results are tracking to plan, identifying when to pivot to accomplish results
Focus on Advisor solutions triage with a proven ability to bring the right people/partners to the table to deliver on business unit and Advisor needs
Excellent communications skills including verbal, in person, written and social platforms
Advanced level of the English and French language required as incumbent is required to lead business development initiatives, actively participate in public speaking engagements, attend client meetings, network and build relationships with advisors, colleagues and carriers on a daily basis
Demonstrated strategic thinker with the ability to strategize, implement, evaluate and adjust
Ability to thrive in a transparent team-based environment
Ability to manage emotions and impulses to absorb constructive feedback while remaining level-headed
Comfortable with vulnerability-based teamwork
Some travel required
