We are looking for an IT Portfolio Manager who will be responsible for the successful delivery of the iA’s IT projects. We are looking for someone who values building strong relationships as well as someone who relishes delivering projects on time, on budget and with high quality. The Manager also plays a leadership role in project meetings, identifying and resolving issues within the portfolio, in collaboration with IT Directors and Managers and/or other stakeholders.
Please note that although a candidate from Oakville would be preferred we are open to good candidates based anywhere throughout Canada
What will I be doing?
Help organize and facilitate strategic prioritization activities aimed at building and updating a road-map for the business sector being served within the agreed-upon parameters (e.g. budget schedule, scope, expected value), on a regular basis.
Collaborate regularly with IT portfolio stakeholders to resolve prioritization conflicts, detect possible discrepancies with the proposed road-map and help develop contingency plans.
Maintain alignment between the sector’s strategic planning and the project execution to ensure the work done by the production teams has a positive impact on the organization’s strategic objectives.
Help establish prescribed indicators that make it possible to monitor trends in IT service delivery and solutions, in collaboration with the Performance & Governance team.
Act as a liaison between the various Information Technology delivery teams to identify and resolve potential conflicts, coordinate dependencies and create contingency plans.
Provide regular and ad-hoc reports on relevant activities to the various business and IT stakeholders. Analyze data and reports to identify underlying trends, major yield gaps and identify the root causes.
What are we looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in computer science, administration or other relevant training of a similar level and three to five (3-5) years of experience in a similar role.
Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC), Devops and the Lean and Agile methodologies.
Extensive knowledge of project management.
Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and collaboratively.
High tolerance for ambiguity and uncertainty.
Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation, conflict management and decision-making skills.
Proven autonomy and ability to find pragmatic solutions to complex problems.
These skills are not a requirement for the role but would be nice to have and considered an asset:
A working knowledge of French, verbal and written (strong asset).
Large-scale mastery of Agility, specifically the SAFe® work environment (asset)
Knowledge of the financial services and insurance industry (asset).
