 As a Claims Examiner, you will be able to contribute to the company's growth by effectively and proactively managing a fluctuating caseload of new and ongoing life and disability claims. You will be assessing claims and making challenging decisions by following policy guidelines which the client may challenge.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:

  • Assess disability and life claims and determine eligibility for benefits while considering medical information, certificate of insurance provisions and the collection of additional information in order to make an informed decision;

  • Actively and proactively managing claims and make use of all available sources and/or collaborate with medical consultants;

  • Analyze, evaluate and make decisions for claims through discretionary decision making, excellent verbal and written skills, communication skills.

  • Collaborate with customers daily by telephone or email to obtain the necessary information about their claim.

 

Profile sought:

  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience in claims, insurance, financial or relevant experience in the health field,

  • College diploma or undergraduate degree or equivalent

  • Advanced level of French and English both written and verbal as you will be examining and managing claims in both French and English and communicating with our clients across Canada both on the phone and via email on a daily basis.

  • LOMA level 1 and CSI, ICA 1&3 (an asset)

  • Medical knowledge

  • Strong team player

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to working under pressure, proactive, self motivated.

  • Strong client service orientation, with the ability to proactively anticipate needs and be empathetic.

  • Solid communication skills with the ability to write in a clear and concise manner and communicate at the right level for the audience.

Compensation:

The typical hiring range for this position is from $59,000 and $75,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on skills, job-related knowledge, experience, and internal equity. All permanent employees of iA are also entitled to an annual bonus.
