Reporting directly to the Vice President Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions, you play a key role in executing the growth strategy of iA Financial Group. You are responsible for the business acquisitions and divestitures for the various business sectors and subsidiaries of iA Financial Group. You are responsible of supervising and coaching a team of two senior analysts and one financial analyst.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Actively participate in all aspects of the transaction process, from start to finish
Participate in the identification and selection of acquisition targets
Develop, supervise and/or review financial modeling supporting the transaction parameters
Supervise and coach a team of two senior analysts and one financial analyst
Coordinate a team of multi-disciplinary experts during due diligence processes
Manage external advisors to the transaction, such as legal, tax and/or financial advisers in order to optimize the results of the transaction
Negociate the terms of the agreements supporting the transactions with key stakeholders from the other party in the name and in the best interest of iA Financial Group
Prepare presentations of the transactions for approval by the senior management and board of directors of the Company
Manage the work of the two financial analysts and participate to their professional development
May be called upon to participate in post-acquisition activities (purchase price acquisition, monitoring of agreements, integration projects)
To carry out these mandates, you will work very closely and will collaborate with the leaders of the business sectors and subsidiaries of iA Financial Group. You are called upon to participate in the development of strategic initiatives aimed at the growth of the business sectors. The position currently involves the direct supervision of two employees.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Actuarial
Master’s degree in Finance considered an asset
FSA, CPA, CFA, CBV and/or FLMI considered an asset
More than 10 years of meaningful experience in Mergers and Acquisitions
Strong modeling, analysis and communication skills
Manage with leadership and passion
Highly motivated and performance oriented
Good knowledge of iA Financial Group and the financial sector industry an asset
Negotiating skills an asset
Ability to carry out several files at the same time
Excellent English and French language skills, both oral and written, due to regular interaction with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal and external partners across Canada
