iA Global Asset Management (IAGAM) is iA Financial Group’s portfolio manager. It manages assets comprising general funds of insurance companies, segregated funds, mutual funds and managed accounts valued at over 100 billion dollars.

The Compliance Officer, Operational Risk and Privacy Advisor, Investments position was created to manage all operational and privacy risks in the Investments sector.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer of the Investments sector, you will:

  • Support the sector in assessing its regulatory risks related to operational risks and privacy, and in developing applicable controls

  • Monitor and stay abreast of legislative changes and operational risk and privacy best practices related to the investment field

  • Manage all of the sector's non-compliances related to privacy

  • Support the sector in handling its privacy breaches

  • Participate in the identification and assessment of risks and controls, including the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA);

  • Develop and monitor the sector’s operational KRIs

  • Update the sector’s impact analyses and business continuity plan and implement the business continuity program

  • Help with the risk assessment of the sector’s strategic initiatives

  • Develop and maintain processes and controls relating to operational risks and the protection of privacy.

  • Contribute to the development of operational risk and privacy awareness activities for the sector

  • Participate in operational risk and privacy reporting to the various authorities

  • Participate in various committees and discussions with industry stakeholder

Desired profile:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, law or another relevant field

  • 8+ years’ experience in the financial services industry, some of which in a risk management or privacy role related to the investment field

  • Good knowledge of financial products and good understanding of the role of the various players in the financial field (broker, portfolio manager, investment fund manager, custodian, etc.)

  • Excellent understanding of investment sector activities (portfolio management, trading, operations, etc.)

  • Good knowledge of securities regulations applicable to the Investment sector's activities, as well as industry practices

  • CSI Global Training or other financial courses, an asset

  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) for frequent interaction with internal French- and English-speaking colleagues or partners across Canada

  • Excellent writing skills and an analytical mind

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, ensuring the accuracy of deliverables

  • Strategic thinking skills

  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills, and the capacity to intervene in a professional manner at all levels

  • Process improvement skills and ability to find creative and innovative solutions

  • Team spirit and motivation to help the team meet their deadlines

  • Excellent organizational skills
