The Marketing & Communications Team at iA Clarington Investments is currently seeking a uniquely qualified and proven product marketing expert for the full-time position of AVP, Product Marketing.

Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications, iA Wealth, the AVP Product Marketing will lead the product marketing function for iA Clarington – establishing progressive, engaging, market-leading programs, campaigns, support and activities to further drive the growth strategies of the company.

This leadership role demands deep industry knowledge, strategic and analytical acumen, proven experience leading the product marketing function, and comprehensive experience liaising with product managers, senior-level management and portfolio managers.

As the intake lead for iA Clarington within the Marketing & Communications department, the successful candidate will excel at fostering effective team-based collaboration to drive timely, relevant, market-leading sales and product support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish and lead a highly engaged, scalable product marketing function for the company.

  • Envision and execute high-impact product marketing support to further the growth strategy for the company.

  • Lead the vision and strategic direction and oversee all elements of progressive and highly effective product marketing campaigns.

  • Manage and mentor members of the product marketing team.

  • Serve as a senior intake lead for iA Clarington’s marketing activity – driving highly effective product launch, campaign, and functional product marketing support.

  • Lead the strategic assessment of current and longer-term promotional opportunities for the company’s funds and develop a sustainable program to promote and defend the products in focus – partnering with product research, product management and sales management to align planning and execution of the sales support model.

  • Shape, influence and sustain a comprehensive and highly engaging suite of product marketing support material – partnering with sales to ensure maximum relevancy and impact.

  • As owner, drive the development, evolution and ongoing support of the Active Insights program – elevating the multi-media program through the delivery of insights and evidence-based analysis and proof points aligned with core product positioning.

  • Work in conjunction with product managers to develop unique product positioning for the entire product line.

  • Disseminate and actively promote product marketing programs and support approaches with key stakeholders including senior-level management across the sales, marketing, product and investment management teams.

  • Develop strategic marketing plans and lead the product marketing components of fund launches, collaborating with product development, product management, marketing and sales teams.

  • Deliver marketing briefs to guide the development of product marketing support.

  • Track, measure and report on all product marketing campaigns.

  • Review and approve all product marketing support deliverables.

  • Develop excellent working relationships with senior sales management, wholesalers and inside sales reps to generate insights and feedback – enhancing the relevancy of product positioning and sales support.

  • Lead continuous improvement efforts for the product marketing function.

  • Lead efforts to effectively integrate product marketing support across due diligence and national sales activities.

  • Liaise with product managers to create timely, tactical product and market commentary.

  • Remain well informed of industry and regulatory issues and provide input and direction on any related initiatives or revised approaches as required.

  • Judiciously manage and reconcile campaign budgets to meet approved budgets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A University degree, preferably with an emphasis on Marketing, Business Administration, Finance or Economics.

  • CFA enrolment or completion a preferred attribute.

  • CSC, CIM or other recognized industry certifications.

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive product/marketing and/or sales experience within the investment management industry, with at least 5 years of related product marketing experience.

  • Proven strategic planning and product marketing and communications capabilities.

  • Demonstrated experience envisioning and leading high-profile fund launches and fund campaigns.

  • Expert analytical capabilities with a deep understanding of mutual fund performance, sales trend analysis, and digital campaign measurement.

  • Progressive project leadership experience.

  • Expert knowledge of capital markets, investment products and the advisor sales model.

  • Motivated, driven, self-starter with impeccable organizational skills.

  • The ability to multi-task and prioritize key initiatives.

  • Staff management/mentoring experience.

  • Superior relationship management skills at all levels, and the ability to influence at senior levels.

  • Exceptional standards of quality control and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct.
