To maintain PPI’s exacting level of service, we are looking for a Sales and Marketing Associate to join our St. John’s Sales Team. This is a term position of approximately 12 months.

Sales and Marketing Associate

The Sales and Marketing Associate supports a broad range of local sales and marketing initiatives as directed by the Vice-President, Sales. In conjunction with the sales team and wholesalers, the incumbent is responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of marketing events held for advisors.  The Sales and Marketing Associate will work closely with the Manager, National Sales Initiatives to ensure that all communications and activities present a professional and on-brand appearance, as well as consistent messages that resonate with advisors and other audiences.

Working closely with the sales team, the Sales and Marketing Associate will also assist with the case preparation of new business and the in-force block of business and provide support to the sales team as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the local delivery of national sales and marketing programs such as the Knowledge Program, including ongoing production coordination and dissemination of supporting collateral material.  Assist in planning and executing all aspects of events such as PD Days, Regional PPI Days, annual Advisor Conference, off-site sales meetings.

  • Provide support for local and national Symposiums by ensuring on-site readiness of facilities, materials, speakers (including wholesalers), booth displays, hand-outs, etc.  Communicate events appropriately to advisors.

  • Coordinate with sales team and wholesalers to plan and execute all Marketing Allowance events.

  • Ensure that new or revised sales programs, materials and services are produced and delivered in a professional manner consistent with national brand standards.  

  • Prepare Welcome Kits for all new advisors ; prepare Advantage Advisor Kits.

  • Set up advisors to provide them with access to all relevant PPI systems – website, toolkit, WealthServ Broker Portal, HPN, etc. and educate advisors on the use of the various systems as required.

  • Prepare and distribute all forms of advisor communication; manage various distribution lists for communication purposes.

  • Utilize WealthServ to provide appropriate data on advisor segmentation and other special projects to assist senior management.

  • Work with the Manager, National Sales Initiatives to coordinate the preparation and delivery of PPI marketing and sales material, arrange promotional item sourcing and production, and maintain/update sales-related information such as the events calendar on the advisor secure website.

  • Assist in the analysis of local sales data and look for improvements in sales practices.

  • Coordinate the production of sales presentations developed for national use with the corporate Communications team and assist in organizing the SharePoint library.

  • Apply for CE accreditation with all regulatory bodies (Advocis, AIC, IIROC, etc.).

  • Create standard presentation packages utilizing illustrations, applets and other available formats, etc.

  • Prepare illustration software quotes as requested.

  • Develop strategies for the successful packaging of cases in conjunction with the sales team and/or advisor.

  • Respond to queries regarding changes to in-force policies such as conversions

  • Assist the Vice-President, Sales in carrying out his responsibilities including assisting in coordinating and managing his schedule.

  • Participate in special projects as necessary.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • University/college graduation in a business related program desired

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in the life insurance industry

  • Knowledge of life insurance sales strongly desired; knowledge of contracting processes desired

  • Successful completion of or working toward obtaining LLQP, desired

  • Industry designations (FLMI, ACS, CLU, ChFC, CHS, CFP) desired

  • Experience in a highly service oriented role

  • Advanced degree of skill with Microsoft software applications – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and move between projects continuously

  • Effective problem solver with the initiative to be innovative and creative

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain  relationships

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Positive attitude with ‘service’ focus

  • Proven ability to handle confidential material with the highest level of discretion

  • Bilingualism in French and English an asset
