Our Financial Controller team is currently expanding and is looking for a Senior Advisor to play a key role within a large team!
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the financial reporting value chain of a public company by assisting in the preparation of financial statements for group entities, particularly for non-integrated U.S. life insurance subsidiaries.
- Understanding and taking ownership of the accounting processes for these subsidiaries (US SAP) to execute IFRS value chain processes:
- Recording IFRS journal entries for subsidiaries.
- Validating and explaining IFRS results.
- Answering accounting-related questions from actuaries.
- Overseeing IFRS 17 controls (in collaboration with actuaries).
- Acting as the primary accounting contact to support these subsidiaries.
- Managing subsidiaries’ ERP system requests.
- Keeping various reference tables up to date (chart of accounts, IFRS 17 variables).
- Collaborating with actuarial teams on maintenance and analysis of attributable and non-attributable expenses.
- Mastering corporate sector expense allocation processes and developing related reports.
- Participating in the continuous improvement of work methods to enhance operational efficiency in financial processes, while contributing to financial system transformation and optimization projects.
- Identifying, developing, and recommending strategic and complex accounting positions while ensuring sound governance of accounting processes.
- Demonstrating leadership by participating in multidisciplinary working groups and managing various mandates.
- Supporting the team in producing management information and varied analyses for senior management.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (BAC), MBA is an asset.
- CPA designation is an asset.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced English proficiency (30-50% of the time daily, both oral and written) to understand and explain specialized topics with U.S. insurance sector partners and subsidiaries.
- Expertise in US GAAP and US SAP is an asset.
