Description

The incumbent provides administrative support duties and contributes to the overall growth and development of the Special Markets Eastern Regional Office.  This is a service-oriented position with strict turn around requirements, which if not adhered to has the potential to impact business.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Percentage of Time

Administration 75%

  • New business implementation: such as issuing new policies and set-up on the applicable systems
  • process mid-term and policy changes
  • process renewals by reviewing renewal data, calculating renewal premiums and inputting data on CLASS and other applicable systems
  • prepare endorsements, invoices, summaries and related material to the broker/client
  • re-issue contracts as necessary
  • contact brokers/clients with outstanding renewal, premium and administration issues
  • assists brokers/clients with policy implementation, interpretation, administration and claim requirements
  • respond to client phone calls and email inquiries
  • Provide sales support functions as required

Underwriting 15%

  • Review and evaluate risk, and analyze specifications for non-complex quote requests
  • prepare and issue new business proposals and other quote documents
  • conduct renewal analysis of in-force policies and prepare renewal notices requesting renewal information

Miscellaneous tasks 10%

  • generate periodic experience report for special accounts
  • assist Compliance team and brokers regarding licensing requirements
  • provide administrative support to other team members as needed

Position Requirements

  • Post-secondary education
  • Complete educational/insurance courses or workshops as necessary to maintain a high level of Special Risk insurance and computer knowledge
  • 3+ years of Group Insurance work experience or related office insurance experience;
  • Special Risk insurance experience preferred
  • Bilingual level of knowledge in French and English as the person will be required to orally contact, assist with requests, and draft documents with customers on a daily basis;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent analytical skills to resolve problems and display innovative skills for evaluating, improving and implementing;
  • Advanced working knowlede of Windows based applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access);
  • Detail oriented and thorough;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Customer service focused with professional manner;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done;
  • Ability to work well under deadline pressure’
  • Sense of urgency and confidentiality;
  • Ability to work closely with others as a team player.
