As Director, Foreign Exchange, you are responsible for managing trade functions to help drive our business outcomes. You will also build and strengthen new and existing relationships with our clients based on mutual trust. You will work closely with other internal groups to maximize firm wide Foreign Exchange opportunities.  Success in this role will require you to be highly self-motivated, confident, and driven. You are also someone who acts with a high degree of integrity and is comfortable making sound decisions in fast-paced and dynamic environments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate All FX flows (spot, swaps, forwards, options) for various internal/external groups (institutional, Retail, etc) to minimize the firms risk/exposure in a timely manner while maximizing revenue for the firm

  • Maintain and present daily reconciliation of trading/position reports

  • Examine and analyze cash projections, trading activity and exposure reports for daily requirements

  • Monitor and stay up to date on economic data, the news and all other significant events and provide written and verbal summaries as needed

  • Deliver presentations and reports

  • Develop tools, models, and reports to aid in currency management and strategy

  • Work in a team environment and interact closely with equity sales, research analysts, investment banking professionals, and back office staff

  • Act ethically at all times by ensuring all transactions and procedures are in accordance with governing rules and regulations, and in accordance with company policies

  • Utilize analytical problem solving skills to troubleshoot trading systems, develop new trading tactics, and improve platform operations

  • Monitor and respond to incoming market information, economic announcements, and general trading activity to manage risk and identify opportunities

  • Travel across Canada to develop and create new partnerships and to also nourish existing business relationships

  • Leverage contacts in the industry to grow business

  • Ability to speak French and English would be highly advantageous

  • Proficient with Bloomberg

  • Ability and interest in traveling extensively across Canada

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in foreign exchange, capital markets, institutional sales and trading, investment management or other relevant trading functions

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Statistics, or a relevant field

  • IIROC registration including Options Licensing
