Join us as a Strategic Business Architecture Advisor at the Business Architecture and Data Strategy Vice-Presidency level within our Individual Insurance, Savings, and Retirement Planning sector (the “Individual sector”). Reporting to the Director of Strategic Business Architecture, you and your team will develop an overview of the Individual sector and support Executive Sponsors and their teams in the strategy-formulation and implementation cycle. This overview will provide the insight required for decision-making and aligning capabilities to achieve optimal benefits. You will also undertake strategic assignments and advisory mandates.

You have proven expertise in the following:

Enhancing business strategy-formulation and implementation cycles:

  • You know how to listen, interpret, and analyze discussions of a strategic nature and identify impacts, thereby driving dialogue that enables management to validate its choices.

Transformational change and innovation:

  • Your systems mindset and multidimensional approaches provide a realistic view of the complexity and reality of transformational change.
  • You have a natural gift for creating new and original ideas and solutions. You challenge the status quo!

Codifying, modelling, and simplifying strategy:

  • You know how to model the organization’s various facets and highlight useful information in a simple way to develop practical orientations. You have a strong ability to analyze complex or abstract concepts and communicate them in easy-to-understand terms.

Establishing implementation parameters:

  • Through action, you have shown that you have the skill sets needed to establish implementation parameters supporting Agile Business teams.


  • You have a natural ability to inspire and rallying others and facilitating action.
  • You are endowed with problem-solving skills.

Your primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Support planning and implementation of strategies in the Individual sector
  • Facilitate and accelerate decision-making
  • Support strategic and tactical governance and investment-portfolio management (alignment, coherence, global view, business-architecture targets, and more)
  • Define and manage blueprints (analysis and decision-support assets) and facilitate management by business capabilities, value streams, and business processes
  • Provide business-positioning and business-architecture advice
  • Validate the optimal scope of projects and critical internal investments as well as their suitability with respect to business-architecture targets
  • Develop roadmaps to facilitate implementation in conjunction with key business-implementation players and business-architecture and IT partners
  • Help enhance practice maturity and create value
  • Maintain and enrich business architects’ and decision-makers’ knowledge base

Required profile:

  • Bachelor in Administration, Corporate Information Systems, Information Technology, or the equivalent
  • At least ten years of experience in information technology or related organizational transformation, including significant experience as a business-architecture advisor
  • Communication and political skills to manage relations with various stakeholders at all hierarchical levels and the ability to influence
  • Ability to simplify and standardize complex concepts and processes
  • Knowledge of SAFE, LEAN, and AGILE methodologies
  • Excellent English and French-language skills, both oral and written, due to regular interaction with English and French-speaking clients across Canada
  • Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of digital realities, client experience, administration, and operations management would be major assets
  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the key areas of insurance, savings, and retirement planning, a major asset
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of a business-architecture management tool and contribution to knowledge-base management, an asset
  • BIZBOK or BABOK certification, an asset
