To maintain PPI’s exacting level of service, we are looking for a Group Insurance Plan Advisor to join our Montreal or Quebec City office.
Group Insurance Plan Advisor
The Group Insurance Plan Advisor is an integral member of the Benefits marketing support team. Working closely with the Vice-President - Eastern Canada, the Director, Operations – Eastern Canada and/or the Regional Sales Director, the Group Insurance Plan Advisor is responsible for the provision and promotion of services to support the sales and servicing of PPI Benefits lines of business. Responsibilities include underwriting of an assigned block of business, from prospect to inforce, including meeting workflow deadlines and providing day-to-day service to PPI Associates and clients within their specific region.
Provide ongoing client services for assigned Associates through proactive case management, pricing and processing plan amendments, reviewing booklets/contracts, and completing experience reports prior to renewal.
Evaluate the appropriateness and competitiveness of employee benefit programs utilizing sound underwriting judgment and negotiating with insurance carriers to ensure that plan design strategies are appropriate based on the plan sponsor’s needs and PPI consulting objectives.
Conduct market surveys, prepare quotes, review and prepare renewals and analyze the benefits plan design.
Provide guidance and advice to clients and Associates concerning plan design and other benefit related subjects.
Enhance plan sponsor’s knowledge of group benefits products, administrative procedures, technology and regulations through regular in-person, telephone and email contact, disseminating material as requested or necessary.
Respond to insurance and benefit inquiries from Associates, plan sponsors/administrators, and insurance carriers, providing customer service and ensuring a positive and value added experience. Escalate claims, billing and administration issues as appropriate.
Conduct, organize, or attend plan sponsor meetings.
Review new business applications and enrollment data to ensure complete and accurate information is provided to insurance carriers.
Verify and ensure accuracy of all plan designs and booklets for new and inforce cases.
Assist plan sponsor with the implementation of new benefit programs through the development and presentation of employee communications.
Prepare Bencalcs for new and existing clients.
Ensure plan design and client data is maintained and workflow is completed in accordance with established PPI guidelines and processes.
Update workflow management system as required. Ensure all correspondence and final reports are appropriately synergized within the Benefits document management system
Participate in team and workflow meetings.
Continuous education of what PPI has to offer, as an example, Thrive, Agile, etc.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Must be fluently bilingual in French and English
Must hold or be working toward obtaining a group insurance license
Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a related capacity within the employee benefits industry
Considerable experience in a service-oriented role
Proven mathematical and analytical skills in underwriting
Effective problem solver with initiative to be innovative and creative with developing new ideas and concepts
Exemplary interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships
Superior written and oral communication skills
Superior organization and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and move between projects continuously
Outstanding attention to detail
Proven ability to handle confidential material with the highest level of discretion and change direction when needed
Demonstrated ability to flourish in environments of significant change with the capability to remain nimble and change direction when necessary
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while being committed to functioning as a team player
Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in particular
