Description

We are looking for a Benefits Administrator to join our Downtown Special Market Solutions team. If you are well organized and have great attention to detail, this might be the perfect job for you! This role would be responsible for providing excellent customer service, performing policy administration and premium processing.

What You Will Be Doing:

Administration

  • review experience/analyze policies and request renewal information
  • issue new policies, renew and process mid-term and policy changes
  • perform premium calculations
  • create/modify customized Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, Access databases and PowerPoint Presentations
  • make recommendations to Manager to improve department efficiency
  • proofread forms for Brokers/clients/other Administrators
  • interpret policy terms and provisions
  • imaging current and future files

Premium Processing

  • check for accuracy and code premium payments
  • update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets
  • assess and problem solve premium processing issues
  • contact Brokers/Policyholders with premium collection issues

Technical

  • write policy wordings and provide recommendations for amending policies
  • sign as Company Registrar

Customer Service

  • communicate with Brokers/clients to assist with policy implementation and administration
  • take Broker/client phone call/e-mail inquiries
  • assist Brokers/clients with accounting administration, sponsorship requests and licensing
  • coordination and planning of client events

What We Are Looking For:

  • High School Diploma and Business Administration Diploma/Certificate or related experience
  • LOMA 1 and 2 (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Customer service experience;

  • Special Risk insurance experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills;

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability, organizational and multi-tasking skills;

  • Detail oriented, decisive, confident, professional, works well under pressure, team player, collaborates win-win solutions;

  • Advanced working knowledge of Windows based applications and office equipment
