Description

Reporting to the Manager, Group New Business, Administration and Policy Issue, the Analyst, Policy Implementation receives the new case submission which is assigned to them by the Team Lead. The incumbent will analyze the new case or endorsement submission requested by the client along with any additional documentation provided.

-For new business, analyzing client requirements by interpreting and comparing the proposal, specifications, prior carrier documents (contract/booklet) and any other documents supplied with our standard contract
-Works with the Facilitator and sub team to create/issue a Group Insurance Application which is sent to the client for approval, signature and deposit cheque, which confirms the new sale.
-Identifies and communicates any questions or missing information, along with confirmation of timelines set out by the client and the Account Executive
-Updates and maintains the collective notes documents to ensure all discussions and decisions are documented
-Completes and distributes Commitment, Timeline and Requirements documents to the client as needed (confirmation of target dates) for each new sale.
-Organize, plan and attend all implementation meetings as needed as well as provide support with assembling Administrator Binders and personalized member packages for all employees joining the new plan
-Communicating with various departments to obtain required documents and information by e-mail/phone. Once all the information has been gathered the incumbent will maintain contact with other departments during the implementation. (Group Underwriting/Group Policy Issue/Sales) and will be completely responsible for meeting all targets set out.
-Coding the system (Tango/BARS) with the client plan design and benefit information for all new business sold including the contract structure, benefit parameters, employee eligibility, rates, issuing client billings/invoices and member drug cards
-Coding the system with all claim(s) information
-Analyzes whether mapping/remapping is necessary for either medical and/or dental benefits and completes and distributes the required forms to the EDI support team as needed
-Analyze and code the system (TANGO/CARS) with HSA amounts from previous insurer for each members as needed
-Analysis of prior carriers billing to identify and code any grandfather clauses/benefits as needed
-Coding narratives (notes) specific to claims and/or call centre which are used to ensure claims and communication to members is handled as expected
-Applying the required deposit amounts received by the client and releasing/issue the first monthly bill to the client
-Analyze all contract endorsements requested by the client and updating/changing the Benefit and Claims systems accordingly
-Updating monthly rate changes due to renewal processing
-Investigate, verify and respond to requests received form other departments
-Completing any additional changes or coding corrections in the system
-Providing Quality Control of team members
-Ensuring data provided by the client meet our system specifications
-Requesting and issuing benefits cards
-Producing, printing and sorting personalized pre-printed employee enrolment forms
-Verifying the information on the returned signed enrolment forms with Tango

Qualifications

• 2 - 3 years of Group Insurance experience. General Diploma of Collegial Studies or equivalent would be an asset.
•Strong Communication Skills by phone/written correspondence/email
•Strong Organizational Skills
•Analytical skills and attention to quality
•Accuracy in data input
•Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
•Team player ability to work and communicate with various departments
•Proven ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision
•Strong knowledge of group new business, contracts, underwriting and claims processes is necessary
