Borrowed or rented vehicles
This auto insurance coverage covers theft or accidents occurring during rental or borrowing of vehicles.
Have you ever gone on vacation in Florida and rented a car to explore the countryside for an unforgettable experience? With this coverage, you don’t have to take out car insurance from car rental agencies because you’re covered against theft and accidents when driving a rented vehicle.
The same applies for borrowed vehicles—you’re covered!
Some examples:
- You’re finally ready for your trip to Western Canada after months of planning. When you book a car online, they offer insurance. You decline because you have Q.E.F. 27 with iA Auto and Home.
- You got into an accident in Atlantic Canada and didn't take out the insurance offered by the car rental company. With this coverage, you will still be protected.
- Your car is at the shop and your sister lends you her vehicle in the meantime to help out. In a moment of distraction, you rear-end the car in front of you when it suddenly brakes.
This option covers the cost of repairing or replacing the borrowed or rented vehicle up to a maximum of $50,000.
