Group plan members often fail to understand the full scope of their benefits and how they work, leading to limited involvement in their group insurance and retirement plans. Consequently, the key to helping plan members get the most out of their benefit plans is education and awareness.
I often mention that having an experienced and knowledgeable education team is a vital part of the process. And as companies are inundated with information and solutions, they need help understanding how to implement the measures that are right for them.
The power of education
In this context, education teams plays a pivotal role in supporting plan members. The team provides information, guides members to make informed decisions and addresses their concerns. It is essential to have boots on the ground, being there for plan members and providing them with the information they need, in the manner they need it, when they need it.
Assisting plan sponsors
Let me also stress the importance for plan sponsors to provide the resources their plan members need to take full advantage of their plans. This not only enhances personal wellbeing but also boosts employee satisfaction and helps attract and retain talent.
That’s why it’s important to help plan sponsors take an active role in ensuring that their members get the most from the tools and services made available to them.
