Trailer insurance: Coverage made for adventure
Planning an adventure across North America or a road trip across Quebec in the comfort of your trailer? Equip your tent trailer, classic camper or fifth wheel with the coverage needed to hit the road with complete peace of mind.
Our trailer insurance offers civil liability coverage of one or two million dollars. You can also opt for collision, fire, theft and vandalism coverage if your tent trailer, camper or fifth wheel is less than 20 years old.
Trailer insurance is not the same as RV insurance. An RV or motorhome is a motorized vehicle that combines living space and a driver’s cabin in one. It doesn’t require another vehicle to move. On the other hand, a travel trailer doesn’t have an engine and has to be towed to get from A to B.
Because a travel trailer is towed while a motorhome is self-propelled, their respective insurance policies differ slightly, particularly in terms of civil liability. It’s important to choose the protection that’s right for your vehicle. If you have any questions or would like to receive a personalized quote, please call 1-866-650-4689.
Recommended coverage
Civil liability
Covers the damage to your trailer for which you aren’t responsible, and the damage caused to others for which you are.
You can choose between $1 million and $2 million in civil liability coverage.
Risk of collision and upset
This coverage will compensate you for the damage caused in an at-fault collision, a rollover or if you are the victim of a hit-and-run.
Also called Chapter B2, this option is strongly recommended and may be mandatory if your trailer is financed.
All perils other than collision or upset
This option covers the damage caused to your travel trailer beyond collision and upset. This includes theft, vandalism, fire, broken window or damage caused by severe weather.
Also called Chapter B3, this option is strongly recommended and may be mandatory if your trailer is financed.
It’s available without Chapter B2.
