The role will primarily involve:

  • Contributing to the value chain in financial reporting for a public company by taking responsibility for new acquisitions and integrations at the corporate accounting level;
  • Participating in the due diligence of acquired companies in collaboration with legal and regulatory teams;
  • Taking ownership and understanding the accounting processes of acquired companies in order to integrate them and align them with our corporate processes and governance (schedules, audits and internal controls, reconciliations, capitalization, reporting);
  • Collaborating with different system and project teams to implement various mapping tables (chart of accounts from subsidiary to ERP, IFRS 9 and IFRS 17 chain);
  • Collaborating with financial performance, consolidation, and financial disclosure teams to integrate acquired companies in order to align subsidiary accounting with various reports (sectoral, DOE, dashboards);
  • Participating in the continuous improvement process of work methods to increase the efficiency of operations related to financial processes and contributing to transformation and optimization projects of financial systems within the value chain;
  • Identifying, developing, and recommending strategic and complex accounting positions and guidelines while ensuring sound governance of accounting processes;
  • Demonstrating leadership by participating in multidisciplinary working groups and managing the coordination of various assignments.

The sought-after accountant should possess the following skills:

  • Ability to work effectively in a team, demonstrated leadership

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage priorities
  • Strong interest in accounting processes, internal control, and the establishment and monitoring of governance processes

The candidate should also meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting sciences (BAC), MBA is a plus
  • CPA designation is a plus
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced English proficiency required – 30 to 50% of time, daily, both spoken and written, to understand and explain specific expert topics with partners in U.S. insurance sectors and subsidiaries
  • Expertise in US GAAP and US SAP is a plus
