Who you are: 10 years of experience in database design and administration, SQL Server, and participating in the software development lifecycle. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Analytical, problem solver who's looking to make a business impact and join an evolving company. Results-oriented with a focus on client experience and corporate goals. Interested in the insurance or warranty industries.
SQL Server high availability configurations and Integration Services Catalog.
Azure database environments.
Knowledge of SQL Server MSX/TSX environments and configuration.
Knowledge of PowerShell and its use in Database Administration and tasks.
70% Database Administration: you'll oversee 12-15 servers at a time, and eventually more. Manage multiple versions of SQL Server across various production, test, and development database servers in Azure. Design and implement database backup and recovery schemes across all environments (production, Development, QA (Quality Assurance), UAT (User Acceptance Testing), etc.). Maintain database security and integrity for Active Directory and SQL Server accounts and groups. Manage SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) Integration Services Catalog. Oversee SQL Jobs on an MSX/TSX environment. Manage SQL Server Reporting Services installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and access. Monitor server performance, identification of problem queries/stored procedures, and coordinate with Development Team on corrections.
20% Database Architecture: you'll determine database structural requirements and review schema changes. Collaborate on best practices for database code. Design database recovery solutions.
10% Database Development: develop ETL (Extraction, Transforming, and Loading) processes using SQL Server SSIS. Create T-SQL code for implementing application business logic using stored procedures, the import, and export of data between the company and vendors, and application functionality that hasn't been built into our apps.
