iA Virtual Assistant – Terms of Use

This agreement between you and iA Financial Group (Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.) (“us”, “we” or “iA”) governs your use of the iA Virtual Assistant. It applies in addition to any other agreement, policy or contract that you may have with us and does not replace them.

By using the iA Virtual Assistant, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these Terms of Use, do not use the iA Virtual Assistant.

Use of the iA Virtual Assistant

The iA Virtual Assistant is a Virtual Assistant developed to help you by providing information that we hope you will find relevant. However, you should not consider any response from the iA Virtual Assistant as advice, it is not there yet! While the iA Virtual Assistant may suggest independent providers, this does not mean we endorse or recommend them.

The iA Virtual Assistant uses Google Assistant to understand what you say and to communicate with you. We did not design Google Assistant and do not have control over it.

The iA Virtual Assistant can be accessed through any Google Assistant-compatible device but only when you are located in Canada.

It is possible that the iA Virtual Assistant may not understand you properly or may say something to you that differs from the information that we provided to Google. We are doing our best to make sure the iA Virtual Assistant provides you the correct information; however, you understand that, like in any conversation, misunderstandings or mistakes can happen. By using the iA Virtual Assistant, you agree that we are not responsible for any errors or failure of the iA Virtual Assistant to work as expected.

Privacy and confidentiality

When you communicate information to the iA Virtual Assistant, it is transferred to Google then to us so we can provide a relevant response. The response is then sent to Google and then to you through the iA Virtual Assistant. Your interactions with the iA Virtual Assistant are recorded and stored by Google. You should review your agreements with Google to know how Google uses the information you provide to the iA Virtual Assistant since we have no control on their use of your information.

By using the iA Virtual Assistant, you authorize Google to transfer all the information you communicate to the iA Virtual Assistant to us. We may store any information we receive for statistical purposes and to improve the iA Virtual Assistant. Our privacy policy applies to the personal information we collect and store.

Amendments and termination

We may update these Terms of Use at any time due to changes to the iA Virtual Assistant or to applicable legislation. You will not be notified of these updates. The Terms of Use will be updated on ia.ca and we invite you to visit this website on a regular basis to learn about any changes.

We may also change or terminate the iA Virtual Assistant without notice.

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the province of Quebec.
