Job Description

Director, Portfolio Management and Business Architecture – P&C Insurance (IAAH)

Build the future with us

The property and casualty insurance sector is undergoing major transformation, and at iA Financial Group, we place value creation, agility, and people at the heart of this evolution.

Are you passionate about organizational transformation, strategy, and sustainable value creation? Do you thrive in complex, ever-changing environments while remaining attentive to both client and employee needs? This role is for you.

As a Director, Portfolio Management and Business Architecture, you will play a key strategic role within the IAAH Strategy and Performance team. You will ensure alignment between the initiative portfolio and business architecture with the organization’s strategy, contributing significantly to the transformation of the P&C insurance sector, in close collaboration with business units and technology teams.

This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate influential leadership in a large-scale transformation context, within a strong, people-focused, and forward-looking organization.

What you will accomplish with us

As Director, Portfolio Management and Business Architecture, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of strategic initiatives within the IAAH sector, from ideation to delivery, while ensuring coherent and high-performing portfolio orchestration.

More specifically, you will:

  • Coordinate the prioritization of the subsidiary’s initiative portfolio to ensure clear alignment with IAAH and organizational strategic objectives;
  • Take ownership of capacity management processes, in collaboration with stakeholders, to support optimal portfolio execution;
  • Oversee the portfolio budget, in partnership with the Corporate Project Office portfolio lead;
  • Establish a robust system for tracking and measuring portfolio performance and project delivery efficiency, including performance dashboards;
  • Guide project management practices to ensure delivery of tangible and sustainable value;
  • Lead business architecture, translating the transformation strategy into a roadmap of initiatives in collaboration with operational and technology teams;
  • Orchestrate and deliver change management services in alignment with the corporate function, and coordinate deployment activities;
  • Oversee the quality assurance analyst function, with a focus on excellence and maximizing deliverable quality;
  • Accelerate business value creation through iterative and agile delivery of initiatives;
  • Support strategic decision-making, challenge the status quo, and foster innovation;
  • Ensure team development, coaching, recruitment, and upskilling.

You will work closely with operations, technology teams, and enterprise architecture to ensure end-to-end alignment, from needs identification to solution delivery.

What will accelerate your success in this role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has at least 10 years of relevant experience in finance or insurance, including a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role;
  • Demonstrates strong experience in strategic initiatives and organizational transformation;
  • Holds a bachelor’s or graduate degree in finance, administration, or a related field;
  • Has excellent knowledge of the market, competition, and P&C insurance industry challenges;
  • Possesses a strong understanding of how a P&C insurance company operates;
  • Stands out for analytical, synthesis, and strategic thinking skills;
  • Demonstrates strong communication and influence skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Is recognized for collaborative leadership, ability to work in a matrix environment, and to build strong relationships with internal and external partners;
  • Excels in people management, coaching, and mobilizing teams toward best practices;
  • Is comfortable managing multiple initiatives simultaneously in tight timelines;
  • Shows autonomy, rigor, accountability, and strong stress management;
  • Has excellent command of both French and English, spoken and written.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • A stimulating work environment where transformation, innovation, and collaboration are top priorities;
  • A human, inclusive culture focused on talent development;
  • A hybrid work model offering flexibility and balance;
  • Competitive benefits, including: flexible group insurance, a competitive pension plan, employee share purchase plan, vacation and wellness days, personal development opportunities, telemedicine, employee and family assistance program, ergonomic equipment program, performance bonus, discounts on company products, and much more.
