In this role, you will support the career development of your team members, improve the processes under your responsibility, and contribute to the success of major initiatives led by the Insurance, Savings and Individual Retirement sector and the corporate CFO teams. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Corporate Financial and Actuarial Services.
Responsibilities:
- Support activities led by the Individual sector:
- Act as the primary point of contact with the partner to collaborate on achieving business objectives;
- Develop a deep understanding of the sector’s business model, including key priorities and decision-makers’ motivations;
- In collaboration with the teams:
- Provide strategic advice and collaborate on acquisition projects and “improve, maintain” initiatives;
- Establish parameters for product pricing and financial analysis of other business initiatives in the Individual sector, and monitor benefits and costs in accordance with standards and procedures set by the CFO sector team;
- Establish and maintain reinsurance agreements for the Individual sector.
- Support activities led by the corporate CFO teams:
- Ensure collaboration between the various value chains of the CFO sector (financial reporting, product profitability, financial health review, etc.) and the sector team;
- Be responsible for producing and analyzing financial information required for financial statements, financial projections for the Financial Health, Review, budget, ORSA, investor presentations, capital standards, etc.;
- Provide support to external auditors or peer review activities.
- Develop a high-performing team:
- Promote alignment and consistency of team practices with best practices established by the CFO sector team and foster expertise development;
- Support team members in their professional development;
- In collaboration with managers, ensure the maintenance and growth of expertise within the team and implement best operational practices for Finance and Actuarial teams.
- In collaboration with various corporate functions, identify needs in tools, systems, human resources, and expertise to support all activities led by the sectors and corporate teams.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or another relevant discipline:
- Minimum of 10 years of management experience
- Experience managing a team of experts in a multidisciplinary and matrix environment is an asset
- Recognized as a strategic business partner with proven leadership
- Experience in the financial or insurance industry preferred
- Strong ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships across organizational levels in a spirit of collaboration
- Proactive in identifying current and future needs
- Ability to quickly grasp strategic issues
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Advanced level of spoken and written French
- Advanced proficiency in English, as the individual will represent iA Financial Group with English-speaking external industry partners across Canada. These interactions occur via email or video calls on a weekly basis and aim to discuss opportunities and challenges in the Canadian insurance and individual savings industry.
