As an Associate Manager of Actuarial Services in Professional Services, you’ll help manage the team and contribute to various projects related to iA Financial Group’s pension plans. This is an opportunity to put your proactive approach to work and play an influential role in the group savings and retirement sector.

Working closely with the director, you will manage the activities of the Professional Services team. This team is primarily responsible for providing administrative and actuarial services for the defined-benefit pension plans of iA Financial Group and its external clients, as well as for onboarding new clients for insured annuities. You will ensure the team’s operational efficiency and the sound management of its human and material resources. You will also develop and maintain excellent business relationships with clients and partners.

You will also participate in various projects as well as actuarial and consulting engagements related to iA Financial Group’s pension plans. In these large-scale projects, you will apply your expertise in defined-benefit pension plans.

What You’ll Accomplish with Us

As Associate Manager of Actuarial Services in Professional Services, you will be at the heart of our mission.

Here are your key responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate a team of about fifteen professionals to maintain the expertise needed to carry out assignments.
• Oversee talent acquisition, performance evaluation, and skills development.
• Understand and communicate the vision, strategic challenges, and needs of the sector to rally your team and various partners around priorities.
• Ensure project compliance and adherence to deadlines by planning, organizing, and guiding the team’s work.
• Contribute to the operational efficiency of professional services by participating in strategies to optimize the team’s work and improve processes.
• Serve as a mentor to the team and participate in employee development.
• Participate in the development of strategic plans.
• Support the sales force in developing new business relationships.
• Participate in various special projects related to iA Financial Group’s pension plans.

What Could Help You Succeed in This Role

We are looking for someone who:

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science
• Fellow (FICA) designation with at least 10 years of experience in pension plan consulting
• Leadership
• Experience in personnel management
• Negotiation, organizational, and planning skills
• Focused on continuous improvement
• Strong team spirit
• Demonstrates advanced proficiency in French as the incumbent will collaborate verbally and in writing on a daily basis with unilingual French-speaking partners, teams, and stakeholders located throughout Canada.
