Business unit: Investment Operations / Team: Visualization / Quebec-Montreal / Hybrid / Start date as soon as possible / 6-month contract

Our Investment Operations team is looking for an Analyst (Student) to join its Visualization team. The candidate would be part of a team that performs a critical role in the production and oversight of financial statements and other fund publications, in addition to playing a significant role in our strategy towards implementing and strengthening the industrialization of institutional client reporting. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail and a deep understanding of financial reporting standards and regulation.

Main responsibilities

- Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and fund publications (Fund Facts and Fund Profiles) for mutual funds and segregated funds.  This includes gathering, verifying, and organizing financial data from various sources, and other financial documentation (back office).

- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of the income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement and statement of shareholders’ equity.

- Identify and investigate discrepancies, irregularities, and other potential financial risks.

- Ensure financial statements comply with all industry regulatory standards.

- Monitor and implement appropriate controls surrounding the production of various financial reports, regulatory reporting and other investment publications.

Requirements

Education:

- Bachelor's or Master's student in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field;

- Seeking the CPA designation or registered in the CPA program (an asset).

Experiences and knowledge:

- Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial analysis or a related field;

- Understanding of net asset value calculations, investment products and performance;

- Good knowledge of IFRS standards and regulatory requirements;

- Good knowledge of the Office suite, especially Excel (an asset).

Skills:

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in working with financial data;

- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment;

- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams;

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;

- Advanced level of English language proficiency as the role will involve daily interaction with our unilingual English-speaking supplier as well as with customers, both verbally and in writing. The person will also be required to produce financial reports in English. In addition, this position is part of a cultural change and a new operating model being applied across North America.
