Just a few steps and that’s it

Please see the “Configuring my computer at home” document, which you can find at the bottom of the page. This document contains the instructions needed to set up your computer.

It’s important to connect your computer to power (power cable or docking station) and to the internet to avoid losing power or internet connection during configuration.

Throughout the process, you will be asked several times to identify yourself via the Microsoft Authenticator app. Be sure to have your cellphone near at hand.

  • When you see this symbol appear during configuration, this means that you are required to identify yourself with your cellphone.

Please note

During this process, your station will restart on its own. Once the station is set up, your computer will ask you to restart.

Before beginning

Before beginning, get your cellphone ready as you will need it for authentications throughout the installation process.

If you haven’t configured your multifactor authentication yet, go to the multifactor authentication section on page 8 of this document.

Here’s what you need to know about returning IT equipment (laptops and accessories).

Before returning equipment, it is important to ensure that the data on the computer to be returned is backed up on OneDrive.

Option 1: Return equipment to the agency

  1. Put all the equipment to be returned in the same box and use sufficient packaging to protect the equipment during transport.
  2. Drop the box off at the agency.
  3. The agency will return the box to the head office.
If you are leaving iA, please return your equipment (computer, carrying case, stylus, headphones, recharging cable) to the agency’s administrative staff. The administrative staff will complete an inventory return form.

Option 2: Return equipment by carrier (Purolator)

  1. Put all the equipment to be returned in the same box* and use sufficient packaging to protect the equipment during transport.
  2. Call Purolator at 1-888-744-7123, specifying that it is for a pick-up.

    Get assistance from a Purolator virtual agent.

    or

    Drop off the box at an authorized Purolator shipping location.

*For returning old equipment, the new equipment box already contains the protective material and the carrier’s return slip. *For an end of employment, please refer to the agency.
