To celebrate our 30th anniversary of providing shelter, we’ve made a bold decision: to tear down our own walls. No more waiting for young people to find their way to our door. We will go to them, wherever they are in the Chaudière-Appalaches region. By being present directly in the community, we’ll be able to build a real post-shelter safety net and help prevent homelessness where the need is greatest. Over the years, more than 3,400 young people have found refuge at L’ADOberge. Imagine if we had been able to continue supporting them after their stay... That’s exactly what we’ll be doing for future guests.

Charity’s mission

L’ADOberge Chaudière-Appalaches’ mission is to meet the prevention and crisis support needs of youth aged 12 to 17 in the region.

The organization offers voluntary temporary housing (for short- or medium-term stays) as well as personalized support. Its ultimate goal is to help adolescents facing various challenges regain stability and develop the skills and behaviours needed to become responsible, self-reliant adults.

A $200,000 donation would enable CIEL to reach thousands more young people in underserved communities and meet a demand that far exceeds its current capacity. This support would help expand its programs into a new region, such as Bas-Saint-Laurent or Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, while significantly increasing the number of free workshops offered in the Greater Montreal area. It would also be used to train new facilitators and adapt content to address emerging issues, particularly those related to artificial intelligence. CIEL aims to equip young people with the knowledge, critical thinking skills and healthy digital habits they need to navigate the digital world and support their wellbeing. At the start of the 2026-2027 school year alone, 28 schools were already on the waiting list, representing nearly 2,800 young people.

Our mission is to spark a conversation about digital issues related to our wellbeing, particularly among young people from elementary through high school. Our programs are designed for elementary and high school students to equip them to navigate digital challenges, including social media, video games, artificial intelligence, cyberbullying and mental health.

For over 40 years, Covenant House has helped 110,000 young people build futures that are safe, stable and full of promise.

This $200,000 donation will fund expert staff and direct support services for Youth Reconnect, an early intervention program designed to help youth (ages 12-18) at risk of homelessness. This approach focuses on providing school and community-based support that keep youth housed and in school.

Covenant House's social workers and case managers provide counselling and help youth navigate the systems.

Keeping youth safe, connected to their communities and stably housed is the best way to ensure good outcomes for at-risk youth.

Actua's STEM Next program is designed to bridge the gap between high school, post-secondary education and career success for youth from equity-deserving groups, breaking down systemic financial, social and representation barriers, opening pathways into high-demand careers like AI, energy futures, manufacturing and skilled trades.

Over two years (2027-2028), a donation of $200,000 will equip 1,000 high school youth with in-demand skills, improving their quality of life through:

• Paid internships and work placements
• For-credit, land-based STEM programming for Indigenous youth
• Leadership development experiences
• Career connections and mentorship
• Applied learning for social impact

Every Friday, Backpack Buddies provides bags of food for children who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend. In Prince George, approximately 200 students aged 12-18 receive food, while another 225 are waiting. Rural, remote and First Nations communities face additional barriers, including geographic isolation, high food costs and limited access to food programs. A $200,000 donation will help establish our first Northern B.C. regional hub, including warehouse space, local staff and transportation capacity. This will allow us to reach more children and youth in Prince George and surrounding communities, with the long-term capacity to provide reliable weekend food assistance to at least 2,000 youth in Northern B.C. More kids will head home on Fridays with food for the weekend.

Backpack Buddies tackles childhood hunger in B.C. Many children and youth rely heavily on school meal programs but over the weekend may not eat at all. This is “the weekend hunger gap.”

For a cost of only $25, Backpack Buddies fills students’ backpacks every Friday with a bag full of meals, snacks and fresh produce to last the weekend. 6,800 B.C. kids now have access to food through Backpack Buddies every weekend.

A donation of $200,000 would go towards expanding access to AARC's evidence-based addiction treatment program for youth aged 12-21. Funding will support clinical counselling, peer support services, family programming, nursing and mental health support, and treatment resources that help young people achieve long-term recovery. This investment will allow more youth and families affected by addiction to access timely, comprehensive care and reduce barriers to treatment.

The Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre (AARC) provides evidence-based, long-term addiction treatment for youth and young adults aged 12-21 and support for their families. Through counselling, peer support, medical care and family involvement, AARC helps young people overcome substance use disorders, restore healthy relationships, improve mental health and build successful lives in recovery.

A donation of $200,000 will fund the people and essentials that keep vulnerable youth alive, fed and safe-and help prevent crises before they happen. The majority will support specialized staff providing life-saving emergency response, overdose intervention and trauma-informed care. Funding will also cover food, clean bedding, laundry and essential program and operating costs at our Downtown Youth Centre. It will strengthen Upstream Kelowna, where 97% of participants report coping better with emotions and 91% are doing better in school. Most importantly, this investment helps youth build safer futures while generating an estimated $58.45 million in lifetime community savings.

BGC Okanagan serves more than 8,000 children and youth daily, creating safe, supportive places where they can overcome barriers, build relationships and develop confidence and skills for life. Through programs like Upstream Kelowna, our school-based prevention and early intervention program supporting students before crisis hits, and our Downtown Youth Centre, a shelter for youth experiencing homelessness, we meet young people where they are and help them discover their strengths, pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.

A donation of $200,000 will fund approximately 1,500 hours of FREE professional mental health therapy through Ready When They Reach Out. Youth ages 12 to 25 across Southeastern New Brunswick will receive same-week Youth Mental Health Clinic appointments and ongoing individual therapy, delivered in English and French, in person, through telehealth and community outreach. Funding covers clinical compensation and associated treatment delivery costs, sustaining timely access while helping us serve more youth and reduce wait times for ongoing therapy. We will track therapy hours, number of young people served, service access and outcomes.

Atlantic Wellness provides free, rapid access to professional mental health therapy for youth ages 12 to 25 across Southeastern New Brunswick, in English and French. Our clinic offers same-week appointments because young people need help before distress becomes a crisis. Through our Circle of Care, we connect youth with therapy, family support, schools, doctors and community programs. We help young people build coping tools, regain stability and protect their wellbeing, their futures and their lives.

A donation of $200, 000 would go towards supporting youth with intellectual disabilities in finding, securing and maintaining meaningful employment while providing ongoing workplace support as needed. Responsibilities include helping individuals identify their skills, interests and career goals, assisting with resume and cover letter preparation, supporting them through the job application process and developing employment opportunities by connecting with potential employers.

A $200,000 donation would expand access to free, one-on-one tutoring for students facing financial and geographic barriers. We would prioritize outreach to lower-income families, newcomers, English language learners and students in rural and underserved communities.

It would fund a full-time National Executive Director and four part-time Chapter Leads to recruit and mentor volunteers, coordinate tutoring, build school and community partnerships, and reach more families. Our Halifax pilot recorded a 40% increase in student bookings after introducing a paid chapter position. Building on this experience, the project would strengthen our four existing chapters, helping more students access consistent academic support.

YouthInspirED expands access to education through free, one-on-one tutoring for K-12 students. We equip young people with the training, digital tools and mentorship to lead tutoring programs in their communities. Our mission is to make academic support accessible to students who need it while helping young people develop leadership skills and build lasting community connections.

Our diverse programs include sports and recreational activities, plus a personalized tutoring program, and alternative educational environments to help students at risk navigate the education system. Since we have a culturally diverse staff, we can offer these programs in up to 5 different languages.
