Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre's (QCFC) mission is to promote health, belonging, and food sovereignty by harnessing the power of tradition and community. We address the many root causes of food insecurity through a combination of food access services alongside medium- and long-term education and training initiatives that increase availability of healthy and culturally sustaining food while also supporting the local food system.

Vancouver Food Runners is an innovative food recovery organization that uses app technology and a team of volunteer drivers to redirect food from 150+ businesses to 150+ nonprofit partners in the Metro Vancouver region. In 4.5 years, VFR volunteers (3,400+ registered on the app) have delivered 4.1+ million pounds of healthy food (3.4+ million equivalent meals), also mitigating 6.9+ million pounds of CO2eq.

Food Stash reduces food waste and food insecurity. We recover over 80,000 pounds of surplus food per month (e.g. imperfect produce, surplus dairy) from retailers, wholesalers and farms. We deliver weekly customized boxes of healthy food to 110 food-insecure households with chronic illnesses and/or disabilities. We run a 'pay-what-you-feel' Rescued Food Market open to all, serving 100+ people weekly. We deliver food to 35 partner charities collectively serving 14,000+ people weekly.

Since 1981 Crossroads for Women has been empowering and assisting survivors of violence by providing education, resources, emergency shelter, counseling and crisis intervention 24/7 for southeastern New Brunswick. Crossroads for Women is the only domestic violence and sexual assault shelter in southeastern New Brunswick, and the largest shelter of its kind in the Atlantic region, offering a total of 38 beds to women and children fleeing domestic violence.

The Phare Enfants et Familles provides respite to families of children with life-threatening illnesses needing pediatric palliative care. The respite service is offered weekly in the family home or for a few consecutive days at the Maison André-Gratton in Montreal. Volunteers involved in the program entertain and care for the children to give parents and siblings a quality respite with peace of mind.

Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) is Canada’s only charitable cancer program dedicated to empowering women to manage the effects that cancer and its treatment have on their appearance. LGFB offers a workshop for women and teen girls with cancer in both English and French. At the workshops, women with cancer learn about cosmetic hygiene, skin care, hair loss, as well as hair alternatives including information on wigs. The workshop is currently offered in 113 cancer care facilities and hospitals across Canada - creating an environment, building community and camaraderie, among survivors knowing they are not alone in such challenging times.
