Why did iA Financial Group decide to develop a virtual assistant?
iA Financial Group has undertaken a major shift to digital technologies and wants to position itself as a technological leader in the insurance and financial services industry. The primary objective of the digital solutions the company is developing is to better serve clients by offering them a multitude of ways to communicate with it, thus responding to the preferences and profile of each client.
The iA Virtual Assistant allows clients to contact the company verbally or in writing, natural ways of communicating, which helps people feel closer to and supported by the company.
Will I be able to chat with the iA Virtual Assistant about all my iA Financial Group products soon?
The iA Virtual Assistant is still new. It is continuously learning what it needs to know about our operations to serve you better.
I’m not a client of iA Financial Group. Can I still use the iA Virtual Assistant?
Of course! The iA Virtual Assistant can help you run RRSP simulations.
How does it work?
When would I need to log in?
The iA Virtual Assistant will ask you to log in only if you want information about your iA Financial Group products. For example, if you wanted to know the balance of your RRSP, or the status of your recent group insurance claim, the iA Virtual Assistant would ask you to log into your account.
How do I log in?
When the information you’ve requested requires access to your iA Financial Group account, the iA Virtual Assistant will ask you to log in.
It’s easy! You just need to follow the instructions from the iA Virtual Assistant to link your Google account to your iA Financial Group account. You can link them using:
- The Google Assistant
- The Internet
The first page you’ll be taken to will have the terms and conditions and the description of the link between your Google and iA Financial Group accounts. If you click on “Continue,” you’ll be directed to a page where you can enter your access code and password for My Client Space to link your accounts. Click on "Sign in to Link", to get information from the iA Virtual Assistant about your iA Financial Group products.
How do I unlink my Google account from my iA Financial Group account?
You don’t need to unlink your accounts at the end of each session with the iA Virtual Assistant. That way, you won’t have to log in every time you want to ask questions about your iA Financial Group products.
However, if you want to unlink your accounts, follow these steps:
- Go to the Google Assistant app and search for “iA Financial Group”. You can also go to the iA Virtual Assistant page.
- Go to the “Details” screen.
- Click on the “Unlink” button.
I want to talk to the iA Virtual Assistant in writing. How do I proceed?
First, access Google Assistant on your phone or tablet, then follow these steps:
- Click on the appropriate icon to open the keyboard.
- Using your device’s keyboard, type "Talk to iA Financial Group".
- You can then chat with the iA Virtual Assistant.
If you don’t have Google Assistant, download it from the App Store or Google Play.
How can I change the topic of my conversation with the iA Virtual Assistant?
At any time, you can interrupt the conversation by saying: “Do something else.”

The information we can save can only be used for statistical purposes and to improve the iA Virtual Assistant.
Why doesn’t the iA Virtual Assistant always understand what I’m saying?
The iA Virtual Assistant is still learning. Every day it’s learning more and more, please be patient!

The iA Virtual Assistant is unable to determine my location from my Google account. Why?
First, check to see if you have activated your phone’s and the Google Assistant geolocation setting.
If you use Google Home, you must configure Voice Match to allow the iA Virtual Assistant to use your personal information, like your current location.
Because these features are configured differently based on the type of device, we recommend that you consult the instructions provided on your provider’s website.
The virtual assistant changed languages during our conversation. Why?
If the device you are using and Google Assistant are not configured in the same language, Google Assistant may not detect the language you are using during your conversation and may change languages unexpectedly.
To avoid this, we advise you to set the same language on both your device and Google Assistant.
