Quebec City,

News Release

Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services is proud to be associated with the Quebec Firefighters Foundation for Major Burn Victims (Fondation des pompiers du Québec pour les grands brûlés) as the official presenter of Lotopompier’s 20th anniversary fundraising campaign. Lotopompier, which is the foundation’s primary source of financing, is a special lottery that allows the foundation to raise funds in order to improve the level of care given to burn victims in the province of Quebec. In addition to making a major financial contribution that will allow the foundation to carry out its campaign, Industrial Alliance will also collaborate closely in the organization of the fundraising event and in promoting this worthy cause.

"For a company such as ours, whose primary mission is to provide people with the means to ensure their quality of life, this partnership is quite natural," stated Yvon Charest, President and Chief Executive Officer, Industrial Alliance. "Thanks to the foundation’s work and continuing scientific advances, major burn victim survivors can now receive care that ranks among the best in the world."

Industrial Alliance’s involvement will also be expressed through an awareness campaign that will take place in a dozen cities across Quebec, including Montreal, Quebec City, Chicoutimi, Rimouski, Saint-Georges-de-Beauce, Gatineau, Rouyn-Noranda, Drummondville, Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières. Industrial Alliance will be present in each city and has a few special surprises planned for the children attending the events. The Industrial Alliance fire simulation booth, which teaches children what to do in case of fire, will be among the many attractions.

Industrial Alliance is also organizing an Internet contest in which up to $10,000 in prizes will be awarded. To enter the contest, participants must first purchase a Lotopompier lottery ticket and then visit the Industrial Alliance corporate website at www.inalco.com where they are invited to fill out a virtual form and validate their 2002 Lotopompier ticket. A total of 200 instant prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners. Furthermore, each participant’s name is automatically entered in a draw to win a grand prize of $5,000.
