The VP of VSC Claims will be responsible for managing the VSC claims department in its entirety, totaling ~115 employees. This includes not only those dedicated to claims adjudication but also those who perform payment processing, customer support, parts sourcing, inspection support, etc. The scope of responsibility for this role will include Home Warranty claims but neither GAP nor Ancillary claims.

In this role, the VP will be expected to meet or exceed SLAs for customer service, quality, accuracy, speed, productivity, and efficiency for each area of the department – and to operate within budget.   • Oversee all VSC claims activities and support functions to ensure quality and timely claims processing
  • Monitor performance across KPIs for customer service, quality, accuracy, speed, efficiency, etc. and deliver upon SLAs; operate within budget
  • Interact with other departments to provide effective and consistent administration according to corporate policies and underwriter requirements
  • Plan/implement procedural, organizational & technological solutions to meet claim processing demands
  • Select, manage, train and develop direct reports and staff to ensure maximum personnel contribution
  • Appraise performance and delegate authority and responsibility to maximize departmental efficiency
  • Collaborate with management and other departments in product development & contract administration
  • Act as consultant and liaison in the development, maintenance, and training/servicing of existing accounts and the installation of new accounts
  • Manage claim disputes with external parties such as the attorney general, DOI, consumer protection agencies, attorneys, government agencies, and individual claimants
  • Collaborate with Risk Management and Finance to analyze account performance, develop/implement loss control measures and ensure company profitability
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of programs designed to improve account performance
  • Review claims appeal to determine if fair and accurate claim adjudication has been made and decide on the final disposition of claims (in consultation with underwriters as necessary)
  • Must maintain expert knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures – as well as design and operation of all mechanical vehicle systems and other aspects of vehicle operation
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, Client Services, Legal, Compliance, and Sales regarding complaints, account issues, claims disputes or complex claims situations, and contractual issues
  • Represent the company both internally and externally as needed
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned


  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • At least ten years of related experience in claims adjudication or repair facility operations
  • Thorough knowledge of the design and operation of all mechanical vehicle systems and other aspects of vehicle operation (including auto, marine, RV, heavy truck and Powersports)
  • Track record of achieving personal goals, leading projects, and achieving high levels of team performance
  • ASE or Master ASE certification a plus
