Maximum annual contribution for Quebec plan members
While your plan members currently have coverage for their prescription drugs under a private group insurance plan, some provisions of their plan are identical to the provisions of the basic prescription drug insurance plan (BPDIP). This is the case for the maximum annual contribution.
Under the BPDIP, the maximum annual contribution by a Quebec resident to the payment of his or her prescription drugs is $1,087 (including the deductible and coinsurance) for 2018. Thus, once this amount has been paid by the insured, his or her prescription drug costs are fully covered.
Following a review, we have noticed claims for generic drugs not listed on the List of medications.
Over the last few days, a customized communication was sent to the insureds concerned to inform them of this situation. To optimize their reimbursement, they are invited to contact their pharmacist to request a generic drug listed on the BPDIP List of medications at their next renewal.
This approach is in line with iA Financial Group’s commitment to offering its clients and insureds personalized services adapted to their needs.
