Impact on Industrial Alliance Group Insurance Plans
The legislative changes do not require an amendment to your group insurance contract, since the coverage provided is at least as generous as the public drug plan. In addition, our group contracts stipulate that “any modification to the Act respecting prescription drug insurance which relates to the basic prescription drug insurance plan will also modify the relevant provisions of the present contract”. As a result, your drug benefit is now adjudicated on the basis of the new parameters of the public drug benefit, effective July 1, 2012.
